Spring has a feeling memory for me... the fresh breeze and tiny blossoms blowing and falling around the fresh buds of pussy willows and forsythia, tendrils and fronds of ferns and lilies poke out of the ground and wind upward, gradually opening their leaves and taking shape. But the still cool yet not biting wind that carries natures confetti, flinging and scattering it everywhere on the ground--that is the feeling of this painting. When I close my eyes and think of spring, that is the thing I remember most.
