Description
Marmites de Geants (pots of giants, also called "Marmites du Diable") shot without people. Cylindrical depression in the bed of a river or an ancient river, overhead or underground, usually torrential. Those "Marmites de Geants are located in middle of green forest in summer season, along Valserine river (tributary of the right bank of the Rhone river), along "Les pertes de la Valserine" path, in Bellegarde-sur-Valserine city local landmark, in Bugey (near Jura mountains), in Ain, Auvergne Rhone-Alpes region in France (Europe). When the stream is active, in general there is the presence of stones are dragged into a rotational movement by the torrent. It is this rotation movement that dug, from initial relief of irregularity, a gradual erosion of the rock shaped pot. It tooke several hundred years to come to this landscape.
