Description
Red Covered Bridge by Jeff Burton. The Red Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge that runs over Big Bureau Creek, north of Princeton, Illinois. It was originally built in 1863, at a cost of $3,148.57. The 149-foot (45 m) span is one of five remaining covered bridges in Illinois, and it is still open to traffic. It was once part of the Peoria-Galena Trail. The bridge was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on April 23, 1975. The color of the fall foliage accentuates the red of the covered bridge which peaks from behind the tall trees along the creek bank. The still calm water flowing slowly along the creek creates an almost mirror-like image of the bridge above. The Red Covered Bridge print is a wonderful compliment to any living space, den, or office providing a relaxing influence to the space.
Jeff Burton is a Peoria, IL based Fine Art Photographer, who seeks to capture moments that instill a sense of calm and wonderment with the world around us. His photography style emphasizes the often-overlooked rich texture and tones of his subjects.
