Description
This illustration depicts a few lines from my favorite hymn : "This is My Father's World" in a realistic/fantasy style with watercolor, Prisma pencils and ink.
I was singing this in Sunday Worship one Sunday when the whole scene unfolded to me as we were singing the verses. It then took a year to plan out find references for the animals and take photos of models and execute on illustration board full size 29" x 36". The model for the main character is now my daughter-in-law! Her daughter and my other granddaughter are my biggest fans for all the animals represented here.
It has a loose Art deco feel in the title ~ Mucha being my favorite artist of that genre and an influence from Maxfield Parrish, another favorite illustration artist of mine.
