Description
Laser sensor on GENI driverless car. Also known as autonomous cars, self-driving cars, and robotic cars, several prototype systems are under development as of 2017. This prototype driverless electric car is called GENI, and has been developed by Oxford University spin-off company Oxbotica. Selenium is the artificial intelligence operating system that controls navigation, object avoidance. It includes machine learning that can be shared with other vehicles. At the front of the vehicle, two 3D laser sensors and three cameras track the car's location on the road and its position relative to other traffic. This is one of the push-broom laser sensors. Photographed in 2017.
