This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I think that this print is beautiful. I bought it for my new house (Oct 24), and have not had it framed yet,

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
It's once again the time of year when the window cleaners arrive, and in order to gain access to the sides of the building, they remove some of the glass from the rooftop observation deck.
This seemed like an excellent chance to give my brand new 16-35mm lens a tryout, after the old one was deemed beyond repair from excessive exposure to the Burrard Inlet about a month ago. (Even better, it comes with Canon's new centre-pinch lens cap -- so much easier to use!)
This is a shot looking out over the Coal Harbour Marina to Stanley Park, the Lions Gate Bridge, and the North Shore mountains. Some unusual clouds at sunset add some interest to the sky after what was a pretty cloudless day!
West Hastings Street is visible at the far left of the photo, and the seawall path can be seen looping around the marina -- this continues on to Stanley Park, in the middle distance of the photo, and far beyond.
About Alexis Birkill
Born in the UK, I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011. My career in photography has grown from a long-held passion for capturing the beauty of the world, aided on the technical side by my background as a software developer. I specialise in fine art photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in and around the Pacific Northwest, with work exhibited internationally. Many of my photographs feature the beautiful city of Vancouver, but as well as capturing its iconic cityscapes, I can often be found exploring the BC and Washington coastline for new photographic opportunities, as well as developing my portfolio of night sky photographs featuring the Milky Way and the Aurora Borealis.

Great capture, Alexis! Congratulations on your sale today. I loved reading your description too. It provides a different perspective than that of a tourist who fell in love with Vancouver after our Alaskan cruise ship disembarked here.

Vancouver at its best! Love the view!

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing how you took this magnificent photo. I typically shoot little things so my macro is my go to lens but your work makes me think I should consider getting a wide angle and take advantage of how stunning it is here. v
