Looks fantastic hung on my blue accent wall, and is much admired by my friends. I wish the size I purchased was still available because one of my friends really wants to purchase this picture with the same cooper frame choice.

Greetings, I'm Jerry Kittel, aka Medicine Tree Studios currently residing in central Arizona. For over 40 years, I've made my living as an artist/professional fine art photographer. I've had many images published in the U.S. and internationally including covers, photography books, magazines and publications as well as movie posters, cd covers, etc. I've also been employed as a zoo photographer taking intimate portraits of their animals. I grew up in the beautiful and majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado spending a great deal of my time in the outdoors embraced by nature. As beautiful as it is, I was always drawn to and inspired by the beauty of the Southwest moving here to Arizona with my family in 1991. Living here gives me quick access...

Very nice! This rock has always caught my attention. Because of that hole I always imagine that it is hollow...do you know the story behind this rock?!
Medicine Tree Studios replied:
Thanks Silvio! :) I did a great deal of research on this place being curious myself. There are several stories, one is that Buddhist Monks came to America and carved all these formations including Mexican Hat, top to bottom, and this one has a temple and spring inside. Another one tells of Marie Ogden's religious cult, "Home of Truth" who had a community nearby, chiseling out the 16' x 24' hole to eventually make a church inside the rock back in the 20's-30's, thus the name Church Rock. But after more research, I found that back in the 40's, a rancher who's the owner of the property used dynamite to blast out the hole to have a place to store salt licks and feed for the cattle and though not as romantic as the other stories, the evidence supports the rancher making this hole.
