Online Art Contest - Snowflakes

Contest Rules

Snowflakes There isn't much time left in December, especially with all the holiday preparations that keep us busy, but I would like to have a quickie contest that will end on December 31st. For this contest, I would like members to nominate an image that is reflective or reminiscent of a snowflake. Details in the rules below.

Rules:
1. Only one entry per member. We will close nominations on Dec 21st.

2. Images must exhibit a standard snowflake configuration of 6 main spokes. Images can have a symmetry based on multiples of 6 as long as there are clearly 6 primary lines. Any images which do not meet this standard will be disqualified and removed from the contest. (Note - there are no color limitations.)

3. Voting will close on December 28th. Don't forget to check back after the 21st to vote on your favorites! Voting is limited to one vote per image, but you can vote on up to 5 images, since we will have 5 winners.

4. NOTE: Voting for this contest is open to ANY visitor to the site. Since part of the reason for holding these contests is to get more interest in our art, I'm opening it up to non-members. Visitors do need to create an account on FAA in order to vote.

So please let your friends and family know about the contest. I'll send a reminder message to the group on the 21st when nominations close, but please consider posting about the contest in your Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and any other social media or blogs.

Winner selection:
The image with the most votes will receive the first place prize. All other winners will receive the 2nd place prize. The third place prize will be awarded to all 5 winners in the contest.

Prizes:
First place winner's image will become the main image at the top of the Group homepage for the month of January. The artist will also get a brief mention at the top of the homepage, with links to his/her FAA site and/or main website.

Winners 2 - 5: The top 4 runner up images will be the first four feature images on the homepage for the month of January.

In addition to the feature on the Group's homepage, all 5 winners will have their winning art favorited & commented on the artwork page for the winning images.

Promotion: All 5 winners will be promoted in a group post announcement. I (the group administrator) will also be promoting the contest/winners on my own Facebook art page, blog and Twitter stream, and will encourage everyone else in the group to do the same on their various social meda outlets to encourage more interest in our group and our art.
