Contest Rules
Most artists know what a triptych is. What do you call it when it is nine linked paintings? Could you call it a nine-plex? What you start with is one central painting and you then add three paintings on the row above the central painting, two on either side of the central painting and three paintings on the row below the central painting.
Doing a series of 9 digital 'paintings' on a computer takes hours. Painting 9 linked paintings in oils or acrylics would probably take months. If you giclee printed the nine paintings at their maximum size you would probably need a wall 20 ft by 16 ft to display the composition. This sure limits their potential market.
I have loaded a nine-plex digital abstract into the contest as an example.
What I am curious to see is if anyone else will create nine-plexs or have they already done it. The second thing that will be interesting is to see which nine-plex gets the most votes. The winner will get bragging rights. If we get enough participants then a nine-plex group will be formed.
Of course, anything other than nine-plexes will be removed.
