Country Scenes October 2014 Contest

Welcome to Country Scenes October 2014 Contest! Country Landscapes including fields, water scenes, woodlands, rural, and farms are all welcome.

Artists and photographers may submit two (2) entries. Entries will be judged by a jury according to how well the entry meets the criteria below.

All images submitted must follow the contest and group guidelines below and must be the work of the individual artist or photographer submitting the work. Images not meeting the criteria below will be automatically removed from the contest.

Image acceptance criteria is as follows:

1) Image must be a full, country landscape scene. This means the work will usually have a ground level (land or water), a mid level (fields, trees, country buildings, etc), and a top level (the sky). The one exception will be forest or woodland country scenes which may not show a visible sky if the trees are full. (but we all know the sky is there!)

2) Images submitted may contain animals, birds, people, architecture, vehicles, fences and other objects, as long as they are part of a scene as a whole. In other words, these things should not be the sole focus of the work, but can be a part of the work if important to the scene.

The entire scene itself should be the focus with any other elements comprising 1/3 of the scene or less.
Thumbnail images must show the image is a FULL SCENE. If your thumbnail image shows a close up view of a building, object, animal or person, it will be automatically removed from the contest.

3) No close up or macro work is accepted.
4) No blurry or grainy photos
5) Paintings must be photographed clear and crisp, and cropped properly.
6) No nudity. This is a family friendly group.
7) No abstract art
8) No skyscrapers or city scenes
9) No suburban neighborhood scenes
10) No interior building scenes or interior room scenes
11) No beach or ocean scenes
12) No 'blown out', bright white skies.
