Where My Creative Process Happens

Sometimes you have to make due. Creating art should not be about having the right tools before you can get started. It's about starting where you're at with what you've got. I made a simple easel out of some peg board and a 2 x 4. It's worked for 99% of my paintings. It has some adjustable pegs that move around to accommodate various size canvases.

The kitchen counter works well for my painting as it's close to the sink where I tend to be too anal about washing out brushes when I'm finished with a color as well as washing off a canvas when it's just not going as good as I expect it too.

Eventually I'll have a studio and paintings hanging on the wall and what not, but for now, the kitchen counter is perfect for me. The best part? My wife doesn't mind a little paint here and there in trade for some beautiful artwork for the rest of the house.
