Twenty Second Painting Albeit Late

Life in motion begins today. What does that mean? Today I had some thoughts that set many ideas in motion—and gave me hope for the future. Sometimes we can be bogged down with “this reality,” and for me, it happens more as a feeling, as I try hard not to keep up with current international events. Sure, the information reaches me in one way or another as I am in this world, but keep my focus on the Divine, mostly.

A few days ago a friend asked when I was going to finish my 100 paintings. Since my last blog in July, I've encountered something that friends of mine call regulations—body regulations, or cleansing...a seasonal purge that lasted for three weeks. I did practice a few pages of pencil shading, and painted one picture. Yes, when we make a goal, usually there is a deadline, but I have not set one. Perhaps it will be by the end of the year. After all, integration is important while developing skill. I'm not sure that people can overnight become a Matisse or a Picasso.

Today I am filled with a renewed hope for the future. What was it that sparked? I sat down for my usual meditation, and was overcome with strong emotions. Does that ever happen to you? Husband sitting beside me, we began our usual morning practice, something that keeps us connected in a spiritual way (we come from different religious backgrounds) and gave our concerns, problems, and in my case, negative emotions away to our inspiration. And then it all began to come clear for me. Everything will turn around and work out for the best when we believe it is so.

I've started a juice fast, and am on my second day. We use a hand crank juicer, and so each drop of juice is very dear—from greens and fruits. Feeling good, and the Good doctor is keeping me in check. ;-)

So theses days, life is about painting 100 paintings and making plans; enjoying my husband and our life together; relaxing and keeping my spiritual life in order; training our dogs and nurturing good friendships; getting our house in order and paying attention to our financial inroads; this all is a huge juggle while living in India, but it's well worth it. India is a good training ground for the rest of the plans that God has for us.

If you read this, please say a prayer or think good thoughts for my friend Laura. Thank you.
