Travel

Travel the world was a dream of mine since I was a very young girl. In fact, I remember that I asked for a world globe when I was about 11 years old. I got that globe for Christmas, but of course, that globe has changed quite a bit in terms of countries' boundaries and names. My husband, Jim, was a project manager for a construction company. When a company advertised for managers to go to Saudi Arabia in the mid-seventies, Jim went over, and I followed two years later. Saudi Arabia is a difficult country for most Westerners, but we made the best of it by camping and riding dirt bikes in the desert on off days from work. I worked in the Saudi Arabian International School and for a few American contractors. From Saudi Arabia, we lived in many countries of the Middle East, Spain and France, Asia, and the Caribbean. During all of these travel years, I was able to practice drawing and perfect likeness and accuracy. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the great museums in Paris (The Louvre) and in Spain. Sorry to go on so much about travel, but I have never done a blog before and don't know what to put into it.
