Teeter Totter of Art

Some days the joy of going the work is dull and sullied. It is odd because working on a piece is uplifting but sitting down and actually starting it or finishing it is hard sometimes. So I sit down and start the work. For even if the joy isn't there I can always go back once I am over the block and make changes. As long as I don't become a slave the lie that to do art one must be in the mood to do it. It is a delicate balance to feeling inspired and forcing to the the work. I guess I must cultivate that gentle side that always is says: keep the creativity and play and balance it with my need to be disciplined about the work.
