Pagani Huayra

All the way from San Cesario sul Panaro, I present you the Pagani named after the south-American wind god Huayra!

A voluptuous legend created by the harmony of over 4000 different components, this article will be well worth any true car lover's time!

The roar of its unique engine conceived by Mercesdes AMG and an aerodynamic shape inspired by, as Horacio Pagani himself says, "wings" make the Pagani Huayra well worth the name of a wind god.

The first thing that sets this car apart from most of it's peers is the sophisticated ellipse based shape, a trademark of the Pagani brand. The uniqueness of this design (along with the aerodynamics it provides) make the Pagani Huayra unique and well worth a price above the 1 million dollar range.
Well deserved high prices, beautiful designs and maniacal attention to the detail make the Pgani Huayra and it's predecessors the "Apple" of the supercar industry.

But let's get back to cars: a car's design can be a beautiful as it can be, but a top class engine is what makes a supercar worth this title.
Horacio Pagani had this part well covered. The Pagani Huayra boasts a unique engine provided by Mercedes Benz's AMG division, designed at Horacio Pagani's request. This modern piece of art, handbuilt by Michael Kübler himself, is the 5,980 cc, twin-turbo, 60° AMG M158 V12. Smaller turbos, new ECU settings and intercooler have improve responses while lowering turbo lag.
As most of the other supercars, the Pagani Huayra uses dry sump lubrication, making the oil flow unaffected by lateral acceleration. Like many high-performance cars, the Huayra uses dry sump lubrication.
Reducing weight was obviously one of the main priorities during development. This is shown by an exhaust system weighing less than ten kilos and an expansion tank mounted directly on the engine to reduce the total weight of pipes and fittings.
This power, along with a dry weight of 1350 kilos and the excellent traction of Pirelli's finest tires, makes this car provides one of the most exciting road experiences available right now!

The other side to it's unique engine is the unique aerodynamics that gave the Pagani Huayra the name of a wind god.
The Pagani Huayra set itself ahead of it's predecessors through it's active aerodynamics: the four flaps posed at both rear and front of the car are separately operated by control unit based upon both internal and external forces influencing the car's movement. This reduces air resistance while almost eliminating the upward force that high speeds may generate. Pretty awesome, huh?
This system not only provides a drag coefficient between 0.31 and 0.37, it also reduces excess body roll in corners and assists harsh braking by quickly maximising air resistance. If that is not a versatile design, I don't know what is!

Honestly, I think the Pagani Huayra is so beautiful that it's unfair to call it a wind god: something as stunning as the Pagani Huayra can be nothing other than a goddess.
