Old Film photography and New digital photography

This black and white photo I uploaded in this blog belong to the roll of film of the last time I ever took photos with a film camera back in 2010, yes, up to 2010 I was still using film camera.. Shortly after I picked up a DSLR and began doing work as a freelance photojournalist. I started photography as a hobby when I was a kid, back them we never even dream about the invention of digital cameras. Back then, with film cameras, you really had to know photography, how does the camera work? What is film? Different from digital cameras there was no screen on the back of the camera that could give you an idea if the photo you just took was good or not. The only way of knowing if the photos were any good was to develop the negative. Compared to digital it was a long process and if the photos were not good for any reason you had two choices, either quit film photography because you were so discouraged or keep on learning. Lucky for me my grandmother was a photojournalist and she taught me well. Today I uploaded the first group of photos in Black and White using a DSLR camera and using computer software for the editing. It's been a long time since I did something in Black and White but as skeptical as I was I feel happy with the results. Since I started doing photography here in Texas all I've done is micro-landscape photography but today I came back to my roots of street photography. I guess there will be more photos in B and W and more street Photos in the near future but I can tell you that despite the fact that the digital era have brought a large number of new photographers I don't feel discourage at all about my passion for photography. As a matter of fact I welcome all those new comers, and I recommend that if you are also passionate about photography do the same, keep going.

Me favorite type of photography is documentary photography and photojournalism. I'm planning some new things for the on coming year 2016 so keep in touch and I welcome anybody who wants to look at my photos. Thank you.
