Gary and Elysia - Engagement

This past spring, I was honored to be asked to photograph a wonderful young woman and her fiancé. Engagement portraits are a great first step in the announcement process. They say "hey...look at us, we are so happy and in love and we want you to come and see us get married" (or something like that). The biggest issue here - they were getting married later that month. NO PROBLEM!!!

One of the nicest things about being a photographer is that we get to see many steps of the cycle of life. The year before, Elysia graduated, and yours truly was her high school senior photographer and this year, I was her engagement photographer...and her wedding photographer!!! One day, I will be her maternity photographer - oh my goodness!!!

Anyway, Gary and Elysia were having a very truncated engagement - a short road to the long highway of life (too corny?) - as they would be married shortly afterward. They are pretty outdoorsy types, so I naturally thought - the desert. I love desert shoots and this was no exception. We took a nice hike out - filled with great conversation - and I love what transpired.
