Canadian Landscapes Drawn and Painted

The Blue Hour is upon me. February 25th, in the depth of winter and I'm thinking...every person on earth who does not have winter does not have the Blue Hour. Only at sunset with everything covered in snow, the great white equalizer that turns the world into a sculpture gallery, do you get the Blue Hour ....

It is such an amazing blue ... and just when you think it is impossible to get any more beautiful, the Blue Hour is upstaged by the Purple Hour.

I wonder if the Blue Hour and the Purple Hour have a psychological effect on us that is different from the people who don't have snow. I'm not talking about warm/cold ... that's a different topic for a different blog ... I'm referring specifically to the psychology of colour.

How does the Blue Hour and the Purple Hour differentiate us from people who live in green forests, or golden deserts, or brown mountains or gray cities?

Where ever you are at sunset, look at the colours of your environment. If you're in Canada, know this... colourwise, Canadians are incredibly lucky ... we get it all. If you want to see how Canadians are affected by this vast, beautiful land, check out the FineArtAmerica Group, Canadian Landscapes Drawn and Painted.
