Birthdays...they come and go

Well, another birthday has come & gone...and much too quickly may I say! Another year passes by and another year older am I. Actually, I'm looking forward to it, seeing what lies ahead. Was overwhelmed, in a good way, by the generous outpouring of love & best wishes from all my faithful Facebook friends/family, some of you here and, of course, family & friends closest to home! So much so, that I feel I shall be lifted up for the entire year! Thank you.

I have officially become a member of the group who has stopped counting their birthdays! It really is just a number, as they say! We say that, of course, the older we get. It's true, there are some who embrace each birthday & celebrate it proudly, no matter what. But, I'm a less-is-more sort of 'girl'. Everyone's life is different, for different reasons, as are their priorities, circumstances & choices. Variety is the spice!

I realize it's all about being in the moment and enjoying each one the best we can, especially those on our most special of days. However, it's also about making all the in-between's seem, well, more special, too! The minutes, hours & days pass by way too fast.

"Don't ask, don't tell" is my motto when it comes to age, aging, ages! Like I said, the number is not what's important, but rather how we live our lives, what difference[s] we make [in the positive] & do we choose to lift others up. It's not all about me...or you! Comes a time when 'things' become more focused, more fragile, more treasured & cherished! And, even though we've all probably said it a million times, life really is way too short!

I've always realized that, the temporariness of our existence here on Earth, having dealt with a lot of loss & grief in my life, which began with my mother's early passing when I was just 10. There were many others, closest to my heart, who were to follow. So, yes, life is short...and precious.

It's a beautiful afternoon here in southern OR! I see I only have a few camera hours to revel in the lovely lighting of this partly-sunny day...and here I sit communicating with you! That's all well & good, but to be honest, I'm itchin' to get out there and enjoy what's left in this break of the cold/wet weather pattern we've been experiencing. We actually have some sunshine on a formerly cloudy day! Time to grab the camera, enjoy some special moments and, hopefully, bring back something worthwhile to share with YOU!

Btw, I did return home the other day with a bunch of great shots to share! Happy to report that the following few days brought even more captures worthy of sharing with the whole world...or as far as FAA allows! Lol. My birthday was the 19th, forgot to mention. Love this time of year, don't you!? Blue skies & sunshine this afternoon means I just might get back outside to grab some more cool autumn images! And, how is your day going?
