Hi, What are some of the things that get your creative juices flowing. What is it that gives you that spark that makes you do what you do. For me, I often like to go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's and just look around thinking about what kind of different things could you do with this or that. But you know It doesn't really take a trip to a Hobby store to get that creative spark.

When it comes to my drawing though, I like to start with a blank page and nothing else. It is always a surprise to me as to what something is going to become. It may sound crazy but I can almost see the image on the blank page. Or I just start with a simple shape and it just grows and expands. You know I think that may be why Zen tangle has been such a creative outlet for me. It is completely okay to not have something in mind and you really never run out of creativity. Even though there are so many patterns there will never be an end to the different ways they can be combined and changed.

It is amazing to me how two people can take the same exact pattern and it still winds up being so different. It is so cool how people can look at exactly the same thing and still see it so differently. I look at the art of other people and sometimes feel so insufficient, but I keep reminding myself that there is someone out there who will love what I make, not because of its perfection but because of its imperfection. My hope is that maybe someone will look at my work and see a spark of the divine within. And maybe feel like it is something that is not so far away, but something that could have been made by a neighbor or a friend or even themselves.
