My Camera,

My Camera, it is my comfort in times when I need comforting . In times when the world sees me in a incorrect or bad light. It is these times I use my camera to see the world in an better light than the world sees me. It is my Security Blanket, at times when I need a security blanket. I can rest assured that one of my cameras will be with me. It can be my Leica from 1953 that still works or my Digital Leica, from 2012. It can me my miniature 35mm Olympus camera, It could be any one of my 4 Nikons, or it can be my iPhone.

These wonders of technological achievement, manifest and helps me to see, digest and capture the pieces of life images on my journey thru life. Without it, the happiest and saddest memories of my life's journey would go unrecorded except only recorded in my mind's eye for only the a brief moment as it is experienced and delegated to some distant part of my mind before it has been forgotten. But my friend, my companion is there to record it and keep fresh for all of the rest of my life. These images assure that I will not go through life and wonder where have I been and what have I accomplished.

What other friend has done so much so often and so long, and most of all never gets angry at you or demands more of your time or expects to be repaid or in some way impose their importance on your life or time. Expecting unfair gratitude for being there in the moments when you need a friend more than anything. Instead it rewards me with amazing images that are breath taking and astonishing. And most of all it allows me take "all" the credit for taking such an amazing image, and never once demands some of the credit. My camera has been through thick and thin with me and I am grateful for it's company and the security it brings when I am in a strange place, city or country. Thank you camera. I appreciate all you have done and continue to do to help me make it through life, and point and shoot my way out of boredom and despair. Thank you.
