Widget Customization Options

I am new on FAA and am just uploading galleries of photos. I have 40 on my website and am adding widgets. I would like to customize the widget #1 but can't find what options are available. I don't even know how to change the background color in the widget to match the webpage color. I have looked through the discussions but haven't found anything. Am I missing something.

Also, can anyone confirm (I think I read it somewhere) that I cannot modify the widget to open up with some or all of my galleries showing, rather than photos?
