One of our group suggested looking at another group for ideas for promotion of our work. The group is called The Road To Self Promotion. I saw a few ideas for our group.
On this discussion thread the objective is to visit the images on the image tab
for our group. Pick one image that really 'speaks' to you and post that image on this thread telling why you picked that one. Also comment on that work and/or vote for it to help promote our group. Thanks for your participation. We have a great group with so much talent.

This post refers to the painting above, by Ms. Mihailescu. The feeling you get looking at this picture is serenity. What a beautiful image. If you have a chance to see Ms. Mihailescu's site, you are in for a treat. Such an unique painting style that contains such emotion and beautiful brushwork. Love the composition. Makes we want to go there an set up an easel just to repeat the emotions I feel viewing this.

This is Winter in Roskishne by Danil Shurykin. What impressed me most about this work by Danil, was how appealing the dead of an ukrainian winter has been made in this painting. The reflections show the warmth that was there in autumn still in the grasses and trees. And, it has this warmth and promise of Spring, with the thawing of ice and the soft, early morning light. It is so beautifully executed. There is a hint of melancholy, a longing for the warmth and sun.

I am posting this because, looking at Linda's site, the mediums she has explored are numerous. I enjoy this one because it is using composition, color and content from other mediums and applying it to Digital art. I find this totally refreshing, modern and at the same time, reminding us of the best of the 60s music. Each phrase or title brings the words and song to mind. It is modern, fun and artistically rendered. It makes me want to expand my art to adapt new ideas ... just not computer ones.. it took me forever to make my first post on these discussions. Back to this art. May I encourage you to look at Linda's site and view the texas steer and a few others. Doesn't it inspire you to try something new with your art? I want to favorite this

I loved that the painting combined the fluidity or looseness of watercolor with the magic achieved with colors blending, and the tightness of oil or acrylic. I also loved the action and drama captured with such detail.. The look on the calf's face, the power of the horse, restrained and controlled. It is a powerful painting with a palette that appeals.

There is a series of 4 of these sensitive watercolors of songbirds. I live in the desert and don't have the song of these beautiful birds. Linda has done a series which means people can pair two pictures. I thought this was a wonderful idea for artists to have more choices for groupings and sales.

I thought this one looked rather interesting with the lightning bolt's and it reminded me of some sort of power plant or some sort of energy creation device to create a huge amount of power perhaps for some sort of star ship or something of that nature. From reading the description it's not about power or energy creation but still when I look at it I see star ship power plant like the thing powering the death star.

I love this piece by Harriet, it is colorful, has animals and constellations! It is totally awesome. I love nature and animals and I have always believed that wildlife and nature have full lives just like we do. In addition I am a professional astrologer, so looking at this batik of Harriet's, I see these animal astrologers discussing the constellations and their impact on their forest society. It takes me to a whole new world which is one of peace, joy and wonder. Hope you like it too!

I am a sucker for white tigers but this image is very cool with the reflection in the water and the alert position of the ears. Nice photograph!

Thanks for the feature by Sharon Duguay on my Sabrina portrait. It took me a while to take her shot as she does not like camera. I was really please with her expression.
I just browse a new fellow Canadian Artist - Mojgan Jafari from Richmond Hill, Ontario. She had the artistic talent on her painting. I especially love this "Mirror" image. It caught my attention as this painting captures the facial expression of the subject with her mirror reflection, It is just amazing

Saw this image and could not stop by grab it to share. These are such adorable little foxes, it always amazes me how some photographers are able to clearly capture an intimate pair like this one. I have yet to be so lucky. I love seeing images of wildlife close up since I have seen very few in my life. Nice work by Steve Dunsford!
