Brand New! Help Pricing!!

I am confused as to how to price my photos. This is my first attempt at selling, I want to price them right so they sell, but how do I determine that? I just uploaded one picture for now and priced it from an article I found on the net.
Should I put prices on pictures or take a commission?
Would appreciate some help.
I have a lot of pictures I can use, here's some examples of my work - http://365project.org/debihas27/365/2013-09

Thanks!

I don't think price matters very much unless the goal is to sell to a particular section of the population for which income is known. I started out pretty low and sold a few images. Then I figured since not a whole lot is selling but some bigger prints are selling that top out at over $350.00+ when shipping and the frame is included, why not hike them some more?

I raised everything across the board and the latest sale had a $280.00 markup. When people have the cash to spend I don't think price matters much. I figure with a fairly low volume of sales I'm not going to get rich with tiny markups but if the markup is fairly significant then I'll make more.

The prices I set are still cheaper than some of the more well known photographers who sell shots similar to some of mine.

If you want friends, family or a group of people to be able to buy prints coupons can always be created.

while your putting in words make sure to add singular and plural of each word, the search thinks they are two different words. and your own name.

How long before I am listed in the 'search' data? I have tried searching my keywords and my name and nothing comes up yet. Does it take a while?

Thanks everyone, I will do more searching. I searched the internet for answers before I posted, I didn't know about these discussion boards at that time.
Mike, appreciate your comments on my pictures. On that web site if you click on the picture you see it enlarged. And I must not have hit submit, I will try again in a minute.

there are a bunch of threads on the topic, it's easier to do a search.

the general frame of mind is that you can charge what you think people will pay. most start at $15-20 and move up from there. i'm not sure what you mean by a commission, since the buyer pays here and gets a print. if it doesn't show for sale, it won't show in the search. usually the best way to do it is - note the retail price without a markup, and look at the recently sold page. look for people that sell all the time that have similar work and see what they are charging. keeping in mind that i think it's 10% higher since Faa takes a cut as well.

looking at your images - i can't see them up close, but the few i looked at, may have printing issues. your images should be large without stretching. be clean, free of noise, not blurry, or blocky. quality wise some are ok, but others probably not. but i can't tell by looking at those samples. you can always upload and do a bulk change later on if you want. if you uploaded an image, you didn't hit submit because i don't see it in there.

Search works wonders - there are a million threads about this - just stick the word price or pricing into the discussion search. This gets asked at least a couple times a week.
