2014 Calendars

I just tried to make a calendar on Zazzle. I've always created my own via InDesign so it was kind of weird and cumbersome to do it online. The display is really tiny on Zazzle and there's no grid (that I could find) to help make things line up correctly. Anyway, here's my first attempt -

I do wall calendars, I might do desk calendars next year, but I've not had anyone ask for them yet. Standard size wall calendar.
I just prefer how my stuff looks "framed" with the colors. If I was doing it with paintings, I'd probably just pick a black or white border - to me it just looks more polished than a full bleed.

One last question, are wall calendars what you do? Certainly from art presentation the best, but is it as functional for buyers as say a desk calendar.

I also noticed that there is a border or full-bleed option. Since I'm a painter and not a photographer wondering if the border looks more framed?

I sell mine in my Etsy shop.

Not sure, but doesn't Staples do calendars for customer submitted work?

The cheapest way to go is someplace like Zazzle, but local printers do a great job if you need 25 or more. It is running close to the deadline for getting them for shows in late October or November. If you have a following and think you can sell them at Art Shows a local printer may be the answer. If you are giving them to friends and relatives you can get a good price and quick service locally.

I don't use a local printer - far too expensive.
I use coupons and promo codes and get them early from wherever has the best deal at the time.

Do you mean a local printer?

I've got one on Lulu - and might put one on Redbubble - but I sell so many more and can sell them cheaper with a larger profit if I get them printed and sell on my own.

It is the first time I am making calendars. :)

I been think about this but instead of using kickstarter I would just upload to one of those POD sites if anyone wanted to buy it.

Not for this year I believe so am going to go out on a limb and suggest people get them from other sites like Lulu

I do not have pics yet. I do a calendar every year for a select group of family and friends. This year we plan 12 recipes (gluten free) along with my art.
