Computer Problem - Context Menu Windows 7

when i right click over the main directory (of explorer the left side pane), it crashes. it resets explorer. i can right click in the other pane though. i know it's something not compatible or the like, but i don't know how to get to it. i downloaded something called Shell EX View, which lets me remove some of it, but it's a pain to use. another said to use AutoRun which i already have, but it's not showing me the context menu.

it's real annoying, you don't realize how often you use it until this happens.

any other program you know of i can look inside and remove the dumb stuff? i'm guessing it's a conflict or something. thanks

neat, whatever mr fix it did, it seemed to work. odd though that the only thing it fixed were two vulnerabilities. nothing i'd consider context related. i can only assume a link was broken and it fixed it? in either case it seems to work now, i saved the program for later on. thanks

i'll keep the thread open should anyone have any other tools that work on other things.

This may or may not help, but at least there are some things you can try:

@Lynn, Mike's issue is with the Windows Explorer file manager, not IE.

I generally run Microsoft's Fixit Program to clean up Internet Explorer. Since issues pop up with some frequency I've bookmarked the page.

There's a different link for IE in Windows 8.
