The thing I love most about art is the ability to make someone smile within an instant. I find the real world depressing, full of sadness and anger and hurt, and there are so many things I can't change. With my struggles with depression, sometimes those things seem amplified. Art, and by extension the use of color, is my way of fighting that. If I'm lucky, something I've created, full of bright colors and interesting contrasts, might just make someone smile, or remind them of a happier time in their lives.
