Currently, Richard is painting landscapes of local vews of Peebles for exhibition in JUNE/JULY 2015. For variety and for fun he is also painting flower pictures and some animal portraits (horses, dogs, leopards and tigers)..
Richard particularly loves to paint animal portraits in acrylics on paper or canvas. He is largely self-taught - WATERCOLOURS in the seventies, PASTEL paintings of still life, landscapes and human and animal portraits throughout the eighties and nineties - OILS from 1995 and ACRYLICS from 2004 when he moved from Edinburgh to the ancient Royal Burgh of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. Paints in a cosy detached studio beside the woods.
Richard organizes the annual PEEBLES ART GROUP EXHIBITION which is held in The Gallery, Tweeddale Museum, Chambers Institution, High Street, Peebles, Scottish Borders. This is open to members, previous exhibitors and invited artists ( usually in May/June each year ).
He likes to paint a variety of subjects in a variety of mediums and accepts commissions - usually ready within 14 -28 days subject to workload.
