Osiris Rain is a classically trained figurative and portrait painter who aims to capture the struggle, contradiction and beauty of the human experience. Originally from Waxhaw, NC, Osiris Rain began his studies in the European tradition at an early age. He began his formal studies at the age of seventeen at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy and later continued in Stavern, Norway under the tutelage of figurative painter Odd Nerdrum.
