I am a trained wildlife biologist and self-taught painter. Most of my professional life has been spent doing fieldwork on wildlife research projects all over the United States. My interest in art began with my interest in the natural world. I have been drawing and painting animals of all sorts for as long as I can remember. The paintings I make now are often inspired by the animals I encounter while working in the field. And because fieldwork tend to be seasonal, I often find myself with several months between jobs in which to paint.
