Kris Parins

A contributor to Watercolor Artist Magazine, I was selected for the 'Ones to Watch' feature in the 12/2010 issue and my painting 'Snowbound' was on the cover of the 12/2011 issue. The Spring 2012 cover of American Artist Watercolor featured my painting 'Last Stand.' I am a Signature Member of several watercolor societies. My work has received national recognition and is sold through galleries, exhibits, and online.

Art and design have always been important to me. After earning a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Related Art, I studied graphic design. I worked as an art director and account executive, and occasionally created watercolor illustrations for clients' product graphics.

Since 1998, I have devoted my creative energy toward fine art in watercolor. The transparency and vibrancy, combined with an element of surprise, continue to keep me interested in this challenging medium. My computer and camera are integral to my creative process. Frequent travels have provided fresh input and helped to develop my way of seeing. In recent years, I've found joy in teaching watercolor workshops. Live demonstrations keep me humble!
