'What ever you resist in Life Persists in Your Life!'
How true and profound this statement is...
I have been around Art all my life and I rebelled against it.
My father was my only art instructor at a young age we painted and created together... but life happened and paths changed. I wanted to be different, being everyone in My family was in some degree an artist. Through the years I played, doodled and created things as gifts never seeing what I see today... After my Father's passing in 2009 previously moving back to Jersey. Able to be by his side in the end and having him pass peacefully in my arms was a life awaking. I was cleaning his basement and put aside all the art stuff as sentimental objects of him from my childhood. In June 2011 being out of work and abstaining a slight disability in my right wrist,
I went browsing through the basement missing my Dad, a little whisper lead me to the cabinet to seek a memory.
I pulled out the pastels and some art pads and started to play. After a week of inhaling the dust and needing something to do I asked my Fb friends... My niece suggested I do a portrait of her dog. Being the last pastel I did was on sand paper. I thought to do a textured canvas and not wanting to go near the pastels again, I pulled out the paints...
The gift to have my Dad with me, and the gift I never knew I had unfolded in front of me. So now making up for lost time, not being able to eat, not wanting to sleep, I fell in Love with painting. Please Join my Journey and watch my gift unfold. Since June 2011 I have become
