Once upon a time, in the Bay Area, I was a secretary, then an administrative assistant. Amazingly enough the job market has changed so much that these two types of jobs don't exist anymore. Then I moved to NY and lived on Long Island where I learned about the magazine and book trade at American Institute of Physics. I really enjoyed my jobs at this fabulous company. While there the company was transitioning and moving itself to College Park, near Washington DC, and perhaps a small fraction of the company still exists on Long Island.
I too transitioned and married a marine salvage contractor where I learned about the salvage world from anchor to chain to vessels and cranes... It was a very interesting world which inspired me to create my marine art card series. From there I went to graduate school to obtain a Masters in Arts - Humanities, MA, degree, and, I think I wrote many more papers there than when I was getting my BA. Somewhere along that time, I started to dabble in watercolors again, after a very long hiatus. From that point on I decided to write and illustrate my stories, and some of these I had been writing and saving for a very long time. Some of the stories are for picture book audiences and very young readers. I have also a young adventure story in the writing box that will be great for fourth graders. I look forward to the time when I can get to this story because it is a true story of an adventure journey occurring in circa 1844.
My first book published is ELEPHOOT, which is about an Asian Elephant who wants to go on an adventure. She eventually makes up her mind and travels across India.
The second book, is called ELEPHOOT RETURNS, which is about Elephoot's second journey out of her forest. I expect to get this to press soon.
The third book I am working on at the present is: PENELOPE, the TEA MOUSE.... which is about, oh well, I should let Penelope tell her own story. Please wait patiently.
