Franz Fox Studios and Gallery is located at 136 N. Prince Street on Lancaster, PAs Gallery Row. The gallery is situated between the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design and Millersville University Ware Center. The gallery features the varied paintings of fine arts painter Franz Fox. Come in and view Franzs newest genre of abstract paintings that he has coined Neoplasticity. These paintings have a main figural element painted in oil or acrylic. Then fine detail is added with pen and ink, creating hidden figures and symbols. These paintings come in a variety of sizes. The smallest works are 4 inches x 4 inches, with a variety of sizes in between up to as large as 48 inches x 60 inches. Franz also paints beautiful landscapes inspired by his travels to Europe. Commissions are accepted.
During the month of October Franz will have art on display at the 3rd Street Gallery, located at 45 N. Second Street in Philadelphia. Cobalt Venus and About Face will be among the works on display. This exhibition opens on October 1st and runs through November 2nd. Franz will also be exhibiting some of his art at the Ware Center during the month of October and his art will be featured at Latino First Thursday on Thursday, October 2nd. His paintings are in the main lobby and Grand Salon and will be on display until October 29th. Franz also has paintings on display at Penn States Hershey Medical Center through their Center Stage program.
Instinctual Drift by Franz Fox, a work in the Neoplasticity genre, has been selected to be included in Six Summit Gallerys Art Gala event Vision, which will be held at Pier Sixty in Chelsea, New York City, on October 16th, 2014. Work for the show has been selected by jurors including, Steven Assael, widely regarded as one of the top figurative artists in the world, David Wenzel, The Hobbit, graphic novel illustrator, Domingo Zapata, internationally acclaimed Spanish-American post-abstract representational painter, and Honorary Celebrity Juror, Vanessa Williams, film, television, and music star. The show is curated by Six Summit Gallery owner Leonardo Feroleto.
The Gala features an art auction to benefit YAI art programs. There is a fee to attend the event, but supporters can also participate by bidding on artwork online at http://support-yai.org/gala. Franz will be present at this event on October 16th from 6-10pm.
Franz Fox was born on the island of Cuba. During his travels to England, France, Italy, Spain, and Holland, Franz perfected his art through his studies of landscape and architecture. He apprenticed with several local artists in Paris, France and Malaga, Spain. His formal education is in architecture which gives him a unique mastery of perspective and spatiality.
Original paintings as well as limited edition and open edition prints are available at the gallery. Many more paintings than those posted here are available. Most originals and some prints are framed and ready to go out the door. A variety of greeting cards are available at the gallery. Franz also paints beautiful mannequins. A wall of beautiful impasto oil florals painted with a palette knife provide a perpetual bouquet.
