Fletcher was born in the rural south and spent long days outdoors where nature was the main entertainment. This led to a lifetime of enjoyment of photography, hiking and fishing. His father was an electrical engineer and amateur photographer with a photographic darkroom in the basement of their house. It was only natural that he began to shoot photos and develop his own photography and darkroom skills at an early age.
