FASHION MODA PEEKSKILL
Fashion Moda is an initiative to create an interface for cutting-edge culture in the community. Drawing on cultural resources from diverse backgrounds, Fashion Moda is open to new and innovative forms of art and itís presentation.
From itís beginnings in 1978, Fashion Moda has been responding to the needs of artists as they change with spotlight projects in SOHO, the South Bronx and as far away as Central Asia. The Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY will present ĎFashion Moda Store, 1982: Selections from documenta 7í from March 4 - May 6, 2012. The Store at documenta 7 in Kassel, Germany was organized by Stefan Eins, Fashion Modaís founder, and Jenny Holzer. See also Historical Significance, attached.
In its logo Fashion is repeated in English, Spanish, Chinese and Russian to signify the international strategy of this cultural platform. This concept serves to make Fashion Moda a harbinger for emerging cultural ideas that are appreciated in the light of recent popular movements and voices such as Occupy Wall Street.
