There have been times when I have been out with my camera and I have lost track of time. It isn't because I am so wrapped up in myself or the process, rather it is both the escape and search. The escape was when I lived in a larger city and had a very stressful day time job. I could forget the week and look at the world in a different way (shapes, colors, angles, contrast, lighting, and moments in time). The search was trying to discover, uncover, and reveal more than what the eye or camera can see; emotions, thoughts, concepts, ideas, feelings, and connections. I like that cliche that a photograph can be worth more than a thousand words. I haven't created that photograph or series of photographs, yet. I also strongly believe that art can (and often does) show a deeper, unique, mysterious, and powerful side behind nature and humanity.
My images vary; landscapes, flowers, abstracts, still life, and clouds. I have an active blog here on FAA, giving information on Limited Time Prints, and also provide photography tips and suggestions. I have photographed local events, and news for local newspapers and non-profit organizations here in Sanders County, (Montana); Montana Tour200, Women's Club, Plainly Speaking Toastmasters, and the Plains/Paradise United Methodist Church. I am often featured in a local juried art show in Plains, sponsored by the non-profit Sanders County Art Council (SCAC), which brings art to the community and schools. Art on the Walls showcases many artists and photographers within Sanders County. I believe that art helps us through the challenging times and enriches our lives in many ways.
