As a Colorado native, I grew up in Denver, where I lived for 30 years, working as a software engineer while pursuing photography as a hobby. I followed my programming job to the Bay Area in California, where I remained for many years until I was laid off. The loss of my job presented the perfect opportunity to move back to Colorado, so I moved to Colorado Springs in 2002. I am blessed to be so close to the Rocky Mountains that I love so dearly. I can see the majestic Pikes Peak from my home, and Garden of the Gods is just minutes away – one of my favorite locations to capture the magnificence of nature in images.
In 2010 I decided to become more serious about my photography, and it quickly turned into a passion that brings me immense joy. My favorite subjects are landscapes and nature, and unique architecture, and I have sold my images as prints and cards worldwide.
In addition, I did photography for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and have had images published in their newsletters, emails, blogs, online photo albums, website, their Pinterest and Facebook pages, in the local newspaper (The Gazette), the Colorado Springs Style Magazine, the 2013 and 2014 'Official Visitors Guide to Colorado Springs', images shown on a TV spot, and an image sold on a collectible holiday ornament.
Autumn is my favorite time of the year because of the immense beauty of the saturated colors. My inspiration for my photographs is found in the grandeur of landscapes and nature, the play of light upon my subjects, the interesting patterns all around us, the amazing colors of nature, the beauty of simplicity, and the spark provided by my spiritual journey.
