I had not really 'seen' nature as all that beautiful until hit by an epiphany on a warm Spring day in a meadow, on Mount Hamilton in California. I was age 11.
Yes, it began to slowly have an affect on me as I lay there observing the meadow I found my self in. Nature's balance of greens, yellows, red, blues and pinks, with many textures met up with a serenely blue sky and marshmallow puffy clouds. Lively butterflies, ladybugs, and the like. I think the effect lit a slow burn in my soul. It felt so soothing and yet energizing.
I am mostly self-taught in art. I discovered oils in High School art class and later began painting with acrylics.
As a teenager, my painting “Forest Rider” won first place in a Northern California high school art competition.
I love how light illuminates. It brings into play a lot of interesting effects that can be enchanting and mesmerizing
Beauty can be seen in many forms from a majestic scene to a compelling mood.
I hope when I paint to succeed in expressing beauty, be it subtle or profound.
I also began trying my hand in photography. I hope you enjoy my art and thank you for visiting!
