Designing jewelry is what I was born to do! Since being very small, my fascination and awe of well-designed, phenomenal jewelry has never waned. (Even as a child, my brother and I would play games of guessing the price of different items....his favorite was cars, mine was jewelry. I got so good at recognizing the difference between high quality and fine jewelry and costume jewelry that I almost always won the contest!) Unfortunately, I was drawn into other careers from high school on, and gradually 'forgot' about my love of jewelry until it couldn't be ignored any longer! I picked up some magazines on beading and have never looked back... I have now been designing and handcrafting jewelry for about 3 years, and am completely self-taught. While I haven't yet learned metalsmithing in precious metals, nor taught myself how to make my own lampwork beads, I will someday, and have as yet only dabbled in some wire wrapping for pendants and gemstone attachments.
In the meantime, I continue to design and make beaded gemstone jewelry sets, drawing upon and utilizing my knowledge and, I believe, natural talent for acquiring top quality gemstones, artisan lampwork beads, and other jewelry components and fusing them within my designs. This allows me to handcraft superior quality jewelry at extremely reasonable prices that would sell for 3-4 times as much in a standard retail environment. It also affords me the flexibility to be as daring or as sophisticated in my designs as I wish. And...hopefully, my customers reap the benefits thereof.
All of my jewelry is completely designed and handcrafted by myself, and are truly one of a kind creations. Upon occasion, I will purchase lampwork beads from qualified lampwork artisans and incorporate their handiwork into my designs. And, while most of my necklaces have extensions, I am open to customizing each one by shortening or lengthening them as the customer needs. This same principle applies to my earrings.
