I have been interested in photography since I picked up my first camera in 1977 which was a Canon AE-1.   It has not been until a few years ago when I got my first Digital camera the spark grew again.   Now I shoot just about anything I can that catches my attention.   All rights reserved, do not use with out express permission from me.

American Bald Eagle

This is one of two Bald Eagles that visit a tree behind my house here in Timberville Virginia. This tree is dead and sits across the Shenandoah River which runs behind my property. Eagles sitting high in this tree have a great view that overlooks farmland for small animals and the river for fish. I have to stand still for hours waiting, hoping they come while I am there. If I move around too much they will fly away; they are not used to being close to people! No matter how long I wait I find it worthwhile and relaxing. Just to be out in nature is life rewarding within its self. It is always a hit and miss waiting for them to arrive. The distance from where I set up to the eagles perch is roughly seventy yards. Wildlife such as this is a joy to photograph and you have to be quick and have good equipment to get decent photos. Eagles are birds of prey. They are powerful, beautiful and majestic. I can see why they are our nations symbol. To catch them landing and taking off is a joy and a challenge. The American Bald Eagle is the king of the sky! I have yet to catch one after it has caught meal but I will keep trying.
