Art is Christine’s passion, which began in earnest over 20 years ago. She has always been involved in the art world as a way to express her creativity. Whether it is working with photography, pastels, watercolor, acrylic or assemblage, she explores the nuances of the media and often combines them. “By exploring the media’s possibilities, I am able to create unique one-of-a-kind art pieces.”
The inspiration for her art comes from her extensive travels often hiking, camping and kayaking in the US, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, China, India, Cuba and Italy.
Most recently, Christine spent time in Alaska, a place that captured her imagination and heart. She embarked on a photographic journey to capture the scenes and fascinating architectures of the grand Alaskan landscape. In her painterly images there is a sense of intimacy and connectedness with the Yukon vastness.
Although she has received training in WA, OR, CA, and Italy, she considers herself self-taught. She resides in Southern California and holds a Masters in Education. She is a member of the Artist’s Council at the Palm Springs Art Museum and Dez-Arts and sits on the Board of the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society.
She is currently working on several books and commissions. “I create art for the joy it brings to me and others,” she stresses. In people as in art, she strives to “see the light.”
