Brandi Hickman

I believe God gives everyone a special gift and I feel painting and having an eye for color is mine. Art allows me to express myself in ways that I otherwise could not. I grew up on a farm in Douglas a small town in South Georgia. I painted my first picture when I was thirteen and I was hooked. My love for art continued to grow and after high school I studied under many artists and teachers. The one that had the greatest impact was William 'Bill' Hendrix of St. Simons Island, Georgia. I studied under Bill for over two years and worked with many different mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels. He really helped me fine tune my skills as a painter. I am a first place award winning artist and I continue to enter competitions yearly. I have been blessed to have a wonderful husband and three beautiful children. Their encouragement inspires me to paint even when it is hard to find the time. My hope is that my art touches you in an uplifting way every time you see it 'May the colors speak to you in volumes'.
