Cloudscape & Skyscape
Cloudscape depicts clouds or sky. Like most examples in this Gallery, clouds are depicted as seen from Earth, often including a bit of landscape to create scale, orientation, weather conditions & perspective. The terms cloudscape & skyscape are sometimes used interchangeably, although the latter includes sky but not always clouds. Seeing images or shapes in clouds is a psychological phenomenon called Pareidolia (Greek), a type of apophenia. Leonardo da Vinci penned this in his notebooks & Rorschach inkblot test uses pareidolia to gain insight into a person's mental state. In the Cayman Islands we enjoy an ever-changing variety & configuration of clouds formations & sky hues depending on the time of year.
