I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Great canvas and framing. A decent shipping time, and EXCEPTIONAL safe packaging. Just an appropriate image for my viewing/listening room. Just took the speaker grills off for this photo.
About Michel Verhoef
Photography is a way of expression for me. This was especially when I discovered digital photography and the possibility of being in control of the whole process, from pressing the shutter to printing. Than i also discovered that photography is more than just pressing the shutter; it also shows ones own, more personal, view on the world. There are so many stories that can be told in one image, and to me the best stories are just out there on the street, just waiting to be captured. In my photography I want to strive for a personal style, preferably more than a signature….but a permanent memory of the image in the viewers mind :) My gear: Nikon COPYRIGHT NOTICE © All images in this gallery are the original...

Looks like I'm revisiting, Michel .. & that's ok; at least I'm consistent , lol.. My eye kept glancing to the gold cravat .. & his marvelous hat; this is a GQ Tango centre spread! ;))

Yes it was very enjoyable to read, and I never thought his hat would be so inspiring to dive into history :-) He is the guy who is on all of my tango images and this couple was defenitely the best I had seen perform over there. They just do it everywhere in cafes and on their terraces. This one was shot in a theatre restaurant. The photographers were allowed to sit and eat at the front table...lol...thanks Maggie for your exploring efforts !

Michel, your photographs are always so great. The handsome mystery man with his eyes in shadow! This one actually sent me on a short, little research mission. The reason for this was the dichotomy of the fancy jacket and silk scarf and that old ragged hat. I will admit, I knew nothing really about Tango, except it was a pretty sexy and wild dance but every time I'd seen it, (on TV) both partners were dressed up quite fancy. So what was going on with that old hat that no longer had it's ribbon and looked like someone had kicked it down a street a few times? What I found, and you may already know is that the Tango was created by the poor and underprivileged. I think the hat is a nod to those people. I also learned, just in case someone reads this and finds it interesting, that Argentina advertised for men to come to work there to help build the railroads. So many men, so few women, the place for entertainment were the brothels. Since there was so few women, men had to wait their turn, so the brothels hired Tango musicians to entertain them and the men would practice their dancing with other men while waiting their turn. They hoped to become good enough dancers since the only way to get close to a women that wasn't a prostitute back then was to dance with them, so they had to be good because the ladies could take the pick of the crop. Wow, that was long but I hope you or others find it enjoyable to learn! Thanks for sharing this! :-) Fabulous as always, Maggie
