Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Susi Sole, Wild pony - Assateague Island National Seashore - Where the wild ponies run free .
Blue Sky and a white sandy beach - where the wild horses run free on Assateague and Chincoteague islands.
Susi Sole (as affectionately known by the locals) is a beautiful Pinto pony with chestnut and brown Paint horse markings. Sole' means " sunshine " in Italian - and Susi enjoys many sunny days in the wild along the seashore or in the marsh wetlands.
In this watercolor painting her mane and forelock are blowing wildly in the coastal breezes.
Assateague island shared with Chincoteague is right off the town of Ocean City Maryland (OCMD) and the border of Virginia.
No electric - no automobile traffic allowed out on the island. Just natural beaches and a boardwalk through the marsh lands. When you are out there - it is like being in a whole other world.
I almost hate to share the " secret " of its astounding beauty.

Lovely work, Janine. I am always amazed at how horses can tolerate weather and seem so patient as they wait and wait. Wonderful how the pattern of its mane is repeated in the curving fence, and how the fence repeats the motion of the wind. LF
