Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

We all know The Black Stallion, right? Kimberly Santini grew up reading and re-reading Walter Farley's novels, and The Black was a favorite. So when I was commissioned to paint this Black, even though he had lived in a modern day barn, her heart journeyed back to her childhood. This Black became THE Black. Because that's what a little imagination can do.
First and foremost, I am a Mom. This means I have eyes in the back of my head, spot on intuition, the patience of a saint and mountains of compassion. I am also a painter. I am asked at least once a week, why do you paint? Despite the frequency of this question, I have yet to come up with a particularly brilliant answer. I simply paint, because like breathing, I must. Painting is my career. It is how I help to support my family. It is how I give back to my community. It is also how I maintain my sanity. Ive got college degrees in art and art history, an extensive professional background in many different art arenas and some odder life experiences (like writing automobile owners manuals) that add up to who I am today.
