Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Rosy-Faced Lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis) is native to Namibia, Angola, and South Africa, and established as a small feral colony in the late 1980’s in the Phoenix, Arizona area. It is a small parrot that measures about 6.5 inches in length and about 1.9 ounces in weight. It has a large head and a short tail. The adult’s face is pink-red (or described as peach-pink), body is green, tail is bright blue, bill is yellow, and eye ring is white. Juvenile birds have a pale pink face and a beak with a brown base. In Arizona, the wild colony wanders through parks, suburbs, and the edges of desert. In native Africa, habitat includes river canyons, scrubby hillsides, and arid woodlands. Preferred foods include Albiza and Acacia seeds, flower buds, berries, and foliage.
This adult Rosy Faced Love spreading its wings while perched on a branch was photographed at the Desert Horizon Park in Phoenix, Arizona 12-27-2021. I used a Nikon D850 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/5....
