Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Germinating fungal spores. Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of germinating fungal spores (rounded structures) producing hyphae (thinner structures). A spore is a small, usually single-celled reproductive structure that, upon germination, can develop into a new individual, such as a fungus. A germinating spore produces a slender, thread-like filament (hypha). The hypha requires nutrients and releases enzymes to breakdown nearby substrates. Once many hyphae have absorbed enough nutrients, they will grow into a mycelium, the vegetative part of a fungus.
