Wildflowers of the Santa Monica Mountains

This one day workshop will focus on capturing the Spring wildflowers of the Santa Monica Mountains. The recent Springs Wildfire that swept though the western edge of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area means the wildflowers should be seen in abundance as they germinate and mature from the winter rains. Peak bloom typically occurs around Mid-March and the slopes of mountain sides should be covered in a thick carpet of wildflowers. Dense patches of Lupine, California Poppy and Phacelia should be seen along with specimen showings of the Giant Coreopsis, Owls Clover, Chocolate Lilly and numerous others varieties. We will also be photographing a local nearby waterfall and a stunning sunset image to cap a full day of image making in the Santa Monica Mountains (assuming Mother Nature cooperates). We plan to meet at sunrise for a 4-5 hour session, take the afternoon off then reconvene for a 3-4 hour late afternoon/sunset session. Join me for this wildflower workshop to capture some of the best examples of wildflowers the Santa Monica Mountains will have to offer.
